Unfortunately, 2 of the next 3 came in with the same issue but I was put at ease by Timeer ( an amazing Product Service Specialist of theirs ) that their techs had dissected the issue and it was most certainly due to handling in shipping - frustrating but not a shock - Long story short(ish) Timeer kept with my situation until I ended up with all 3 working monitors which included emailing on the weekends and even a direct call to discuss possible solutions. I reached out to support and received an immediate reply assuring me that they were going to send replacements out right away. I'd had my eyes on a SmartDesk connect for some time and, when it finally came time to lock it in, I was super bummed to have received not 1, not 2 but all 3 monitors with pressure damage. You could go cheaper by getting a standard sit/stand desk and adding your own monitors, etc, but if you want a great quality desk with less mess (there's only one power cable for the whole setup), do yourself a favor and get the SMARTDESK CONNECT - it will save you a ton of effort and is a very clean setup. My laptop supported the CONNECT D option (no eGPU), but be sure to verify compatibility with your laptop in order to buy the correct option (D or E). This wasn't an option on the original SMART DESK, but it was worth it to add them as I can now easily rearrange my office by rolling the SMART DESK CONNECT around as needed. The directions (online video and supplementary installation guide) are extremely easy to follow. The CONNECT desk requires assembly after delivery, but it took about 20 minutes and was ridiculously simple (all the necessary tools were provided). It replaces the built-in computer that the SMART CONNECT desk had with a built-in thunderbolt docking station and a laptop shelf under the desk (with "breathing' notches to keep the laptop from overheating). With the switch to full-time WFH, I needed a multi-monitor sit/stand option that would allow me to use my work laptop. I used that one primarily for home computing purposes - not for work. I previously owned the original SMART DESK (with built-in computer) before the pandemic forced me to work from home.
